1985-1995 - Elected President of the African
Development Bank (ADB) Group in May 1985; unanimously re-elected, following
a remarkably successful five (5) year tenure, by the Bank's 75 member countries
for a second five year term which expired on August 31, 1995. At the end of his
tenure of services, he was conferred by the Governors of the Institution the
title of Honorary President of the African development Bank

1980-1985 - Vice-President of Finance,
African Development Bank. Introduced the Bank to the major international
capital markets of Europe, the USA, Japan and the Far East. Masterminded and
rationalized the financial policies and operations of the Bank, and obtained AAA
ratings, from Standard &Poor's, Moody's, and Fitch Investor's services for its
bonds issuances. For this accomplishment, he was named "Banker of the Year" in
December 1984 by the influential London- based International Financial Review
